Aegyptus
In 30 BC, following the death of Cleopatra, Egypt became part of the Roman Empire as the province Aegyptus, governed by a Prefect selected by the Emperor from the Equestrian and not a Governor from the Senatorial order, to prevent interference by the Roman Senate. The main Roman interest in Egypt was always the reliable delivery of grain to the City of Rome. To this end, the Roman administration made no change to the Ptolemaic system of government, although Romans did replace some Greeks in the highest offices, the Greeks continued to staff most of the administrative offices and they're language of government. Unlike the Greeks, the Romans did not settle in Egypt in large numbers. Culture, education and civic life largely remained Greek throughout the Roman period. The Romans, like the Ptolemies, respected and protected Egyptian religion and customs.
The First Prefect of Aegyptus, Gaius Cornelius Gallus, a Proconsul an now as it stands, brought Upper Egypt under Roman control by force of arms, established a Protectorate over the southern frontier district, which had been abandoned by the later Ptolemies.
In the Roman Republic, a Proconsul was a Promagistrate (like a Propraetor) who, after serving as Consul, spent a year as a Governor of a Province. Certain Provinces were reserved for Proconsuls; who received which one by Senatorial appointment was determined by random choosing or negotiation between the two Proconsuls.
Under the Empire, the Emperor derived a good part of his powers (alongside the military Imperium and the Tribunician power and Presidency of the Senate in Rome) from a constitutionally 'exceptional' (but permanent) mandate as the holder of Proconsular authority over all hence so-called Imperial Provinces, generally with one or more legions garrisoned (often each under a specific legate); however, he would appoint legates and other promagistrates to govern each such Province in his name. The former Consuls (constitutionally still eponymic chief magistrates of the res publica, but politically powerless) would still receive a term as Proconsul of one of the other, so-called Senatorial Provinces.

Unwilling sex role-play is by Room Owner's discretion only since in slavery, this sometimes occurred. There is a difference between unwilling and unwished. Know and respect that. How that is handled is up to each player's personal feelings and if they feel something not proper they will not be looked down upon. Just simply X out of the room or ask for the issue to stop. Its all about mutual respect here.
Only room Members may capture wayward slaves, the fate of each slave to be determined by the Rulers. If a Master/Mistress wishes to claim a captured slave they must petition them for that right. Until Ruler's decision they are property of the City. Already owned slaves will be allowed to visit unmolested unless their behavior dictates action and they also are traveling without a Master/Mistress' restrictions upon them. Failure of this will prompt their capture and holding at the slave market until the land's Ruler's decide their fate. A link below will take you to the slave rules page.

There will be no Child roleplay except for NPC birthing.
No Fantasy, Gor, Vamp, BDSM, Sci-Fi, Animal, God Moding Especially, or Modern Characters will be allowed and/or Weapons will be permitted within this time frame of the room ONLY! For example: If your looking to come in for a fight, expect it to happen, But ONLY with weapons of that time period and of the laws and rules respected and carried out as it should be during that time.
We allow observers to watch and learn. Get a name please. No Anonymous is accepted! If you have questions, ask to PM a Room Owner or Member. We don't bite. Keep all OOC conversation and questions to PM please. Visitors and Guests may join in a current role-play if they can realistically place themselves within. You will enter just like everyone else from the front gate into the Palace, Or the Port to the City, then proceed after a couple (at least (2 or 3) posts to where you need to be from there. For example: You may want to join the baths in the gardens, or enter into the Main hall of the palace is fine, But if there is a roleplay going on in an Undisclosed Area or in their Private Chambers, I highly doubt you will be there. We ask for you to keep it real.
Fighting in Aegyptus is well accepted and even encouraged, But only the Room Leaders can actually kill a player off. We will Not tolerate killings to take place unless otherwise stated by the player Member themselves. If a death is to occur in a spar/fight, the rules will be discussed between the Room Owners and the Players before the actual fight takes place. With all respect, We want to keep our Members. Again, let's make it real here. See below for Combat Rules.
Last and foremost, Real Time is above all priority, slaves may leave on their own if there is no Free's to say. This room is to come into virtual world, use your imagination, unwind or let your adrenaline flow to make the best possible roleplay for yourself and the era of time in Aegyptus .
If you have issues about going around to just kill alone, or God Mode, Doing nothing else BUT the naughty, then Aegyptus is not the place for you. We want roleplay. There will be times when you can't roleplay, but it will be expected most of the time, plus there's always room for ones to learn as well.
